Mexico: Gateway to the Americas
01 June 2006 – 04 June 2006, Mexico
Mexico Gateway to the Americas includes an arts market with 110 booths, and 40 music, dance and theater performances by Mexican and international artists, as well as colloquium sessions.
Mexico: Gateway to the Americas brings together ideas, resources and people to create greater opportunities for the performing arts of the Americas in an international level. Gateway takes place each January in New York during the annual conference of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) and every two years in June in Mexico City.
This cultural initiative is organized by Mexico’s National Council for Culture and the Arts (CONACULTA), the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and the U.S.-Mexico Foundation for Culture, Inc.
Mexico: Gateway to the Americas will provide an intimate and conducive environment for contemporary music, theatre and dance artists to network and present their work to an audience of 300 international and national professionals with aims to collaborate, create partnerships and make presentations. Agents, managers, presenters, producers, venue managers and festival directors from Mexico and around the world will converge in Mexico City for these four, activity-packed days.
