National Arts Marketing Project Conference

Co-hosted by Americans for the Arts,
29 April 2006 – 02 May 2006, USA

Planning for the National Arts Marketing Project Conference, scheduled for April 29 to May 2, 2006, in Los Angeles, is well underway! Here are just a few sessions scheduled for the conference: Come hear Stephanie Ackler of Wachovia Securities who has been using the arts to meet her business objective of growing a wealth management business. At a Sponsorship Saturday case study, she'll convey how she uses arts sponsorships to stretch her "indie budget" even while working in a corporation. She'll give multiple examples of how arts groups can work with a corporation for modest money as well as significant in-kind (introduction to wealthy clients, etc). During the main conference Sunday through Thursday, join Alan Brown of Alan S. Brown & Associates and consultant Jerry Yoshitomi as they lead a lively discussion on selling the intangibles of arts experiences, including better language and a solid framework for talking about value. How are people bettered by participating in different kinds of arts activities? What is the system of values people ascribe to participating in the arts? Mr. Brown will present a framework for understanding value creation by drawing on new research, including the RAND Corporation's "Gifts of the Muse" report, commissioned by the Wallace Foundation. Following the presentation, Mr. Yoshitomi will moderate a discussion about how marketing directors and their colleagues might use the framework to better articulate the value of their current and future programs.
