The conference will focus on the role of cultural cooperation in EU foreign relations and other EU policy objectives. The aim of the conference is to examine how cultural cooperation can strengthen the legitimacy and raise the profile of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and to look into the role that can be played by cultural cooperation and intercultural dialogue in addressing political processes and challenges in the Western Balkans (i.e. culture as a significant factor in strengthening the civil society, supporting reconciliation and peace processes and bolstering the development of democracy). The event will also include the Informal Meeting of the Cultural Directors-General of the EU Foreign Ministries.
