The Arts: A Public Benefit?
05 June 2006, USA
A Community Conversation on the Public Benefits of the Arts For Business, Community, Cultural and Government Leaders
Presented by Westchester Arts Council and The Wallace Foundation in partnership with Westchester County Association.
WHY THE ARTS?
Since the culture wars of the 1990s, policy makers, funding agencies and cultural leaders have touted the arts for their social, economic and educational value. A new report, commissioned by The Wallace Foundation and produced by the RAND Corporation, argues for a policy shift that would make the arts available to a greater number of people. Join us for a lively and thought-provoking civic dialogue on “Gifts of the Muse: Reframing the Debate About the Value of the Arts” featuring distinguished panelists from the business, cultural, grants-making and literary worlds.
