Tradition and Innovation in Arts Management

The upcoming 12th edition of this conference, to be held on 29-30 March 2013, is devoted to issues of relevance to all times - the co-existence of tradition and innovation, their interaction and mutual influence and builds on the Yufit Assemblies, which have always been focused on the most important issues of arts management and cultural policy. Considerable discussion will take place on the innovative practices of contemporary art managers, ways of their development and implementation at various levels and in different branches of culture. Conversation will be in line with the contemporary context, characterized by the desire for change and development of innovation.

The issues proposed for discussion at the conference will include:

  • What is innovative for a modern art manager?
  • What innovations are needed in the modern arts management?
  • Stability and reactionary character of traditions;
  • Interaction between tradition and innovation in management practices;
  • Innovation and tradition in arts-management professional education.

All are invited to take part and contribute to the conference, including representatives of the cultural and arts institutions; Russian and foreign researches; creators; governmental cultural officers; specialists in the cultural education; and all those interested in the conference subjects.
