An international, interdisciplinary research conference on the diversity of conceptions and cultural images of conflicts.
A meeting that will offer cross-cultural perspectives on methods of conflict analysis, forms of conflict transformation, and the role of culture and religious worldviews for and in conflicts.
The study of cultural diversity and its role in social conflicts calls for an increased effort in interdisciplinary academic research. The conferences scheduled on this site serve the main purpose of enhancing intercultural understanding by investigating cultural diversity in combination with the diversity of conflict cultures. Contributions range from empirical studies in anthropology, sociology, and psychology to philosophical investigations of paradigms of communication, learning, and knowledge, as well as the interaction of 'depth-structures' of worldviews and value systems. We have planned a series of 5 bi-annual conferences to be held in Aarhus (2008), Cape Town 2010, Hawaii (2012), New Delhi (2014), and a location in China (2016).
