United Arts Funds: Meeting the Demand
15 July 2004 – 16 July 2004, USA
'What have you done for me lately?'
That’s the question that often confronts united arts fund leaders. The parallel question of 'What am I doing to serve and how can I better serve my community, the arts, and my donors?' is one that we UAF leaders ask ourselves on a daily basis as we go about meeting the many demands put upon us. Are we doing all we can to build community awareness of the value of the arts? How do we define our leadership role, and will we need to reinvent ourselves to be effective and instrumental in the ongoing development of the cities and neighbourhoods in which we work and live? If we are to stay relevant — if we are to meet the demand being put upon us — we must cultivate new leaders who understand the role of a united arts fund and work to evolve as a model that remains effective. During this meeting you will meet with peers and hear from outside experts to help you answer these and other important questions.
