World Planners Congress

The Canadian Institute of Planners and the Planning Institute of British Columbia are pleased to announce their joint 2006 annual planning conference -- the World Planners Congress -- which will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, June 17th to 20th, 2006. It will immediately precede the UN Habitat World Urban Forum 3, also being held in Vancouver in June 2006.
The Congress will be a major regional, national, and international conference, relevant to planning and related professionals from across Canada and around the world. The theme of the Congress is -- Sustainable Urbanization: Turning Ideas into Action.
The conference theme also includes four sub-themes: Planning for More with Less - Planning for the Basics, Planning for the Unplanned - The Natural World & the Unexpected, Planning for Creative Change - Diversity & Social Change, and Planning Connects - Governance, Process & Professionalism.
