This month, it is all about the 10th World Summit on Arts and Culture! We will co-host the 10th World Summit with Arts Council Korea (ARKO) in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 27-30 May 2025. With just one year until the Summit, we are delighted to launch the theme Charting the future of arts and culture, introduce the International Programme Advisory Committee (IPAC) and invite proposals to participate in the programme.
Theme
The 10th World Summit theme Charting the future of arts and culture reflects on today’s uncertain times, as we remain in a state of polycrisis that demands we develop capabilities and skills to balance such simultaneous crises. This insight was shared as a parting reflection at the 9th World Summit on Arts and Culture in Stockholm and emphasised the importance of adapting to constant and unprecedented change as the new norm. While crises such as the pandemic can disrupt existing systems, they also present opportunities for critical assessment, redress dominant narratives and create new pathways.
Charting the future of arts and culture will be investigated through three transversal clusters: knowledge systems and agency; participatory systems and connectedness; and digital systems and technology. In order to chart our future, we must exchange, debate and harness the knowledge systems we need to futureproof the cultural and creative sectors (CCS) and our roadmap, understanding the current and projected digital and technological realities. International Programme Advisory Committee (IPAC)
This month we are pleased to introduce the 10th World Summit International Programme Advisory Committee (IPAC) who will be key in the development of a dynamic and representative programme. The Committee comprises Sarah Abdu Bushra (Ethiopia), Khadija El Bennaoui (Morocco / UAE), Alfons Karabuda (Sweden), Octavio Kulesz (Argentina / Italy), Jinjoon Lee (Republic of Korea), Julie Nagam (Canada), Phloeun Prim (Cambodia) and Pooja Sood (India). We are thrilled to be working with such an impressive and diverse line-up; you can find more information about each of them on the Summit website.
Call for Participants
We welcome proposals from policy makers, academics, government representatives, cultural and community leaders, practitioners, and professionals working in the fields of arts, culture, creative and cultural industries, as well as other related sectors.
To submit a proposal, please use the online form available in English and Spanish. While there is no form in French, submissions in French are still welcome. Please note that submissions sent via email will not be considered. Applications close on Wednesday 31 July 2024, and you can find more information and details on how to submit a proposal on the Summit website here. Lanzamos el tema central y la convocatoria de participación en la 10ª Cumbre Mundial de las Artes y la Cultura en mayo de 2025
El boletín de este mes está dedicado a la 10ª Cumbre Mundial de las Artes y la Cultura. Organizaremos el evento en colaboración con el Consejo de las Artes de Corea (ARKO) en Seúl, República de Corea, los días 27 a 30 de mayo de 2025. A falta de un año para la Cumbre, nos alegra poder compartir el tema Trazando el futuro para las artes y la cultura, presentar el Comité Asesor Internacional del Programa (IPAC) e invitarles a presentar propuestas de participación en el programa.
Tema
El tema de la 10ª Cumbre Mundial, Trazando el futuro para las artes y la cultura, refleja el sentimiento de incertidumbre en estos tiempos de múltiples crisis, que nos exige desarrollar las habilidades necesarias para equilibrar simultáneamente crisis dispares. Esta reflexión es un legado de la 9ª Cumbre Mundial de las Artes y la Cultura celebrada en Estocolmo y destaca la importancia de adaptarnos a una nueva normalidad en la que los cambios son constantes e inéditos. Crisis como las de la pandemia pueden alterar profundamente nuestros sistemas, pero también constituyen oportunidades para la evaluación crítica, rectificar las narrativas dominantes y crear nuevos caminos.
Trazando el futuro para las artes y la cultura tendrá tres focos transversales: sistemas de conocimiento y del saber; sistemas participativos y conectividad; y sistemas digitales y la tecnología. Para trazar nuestro futuro, tenemos que poder intercambiar, debatir y canalizar los sistemas de conocimiento y del saber que necesitamos para garantizar el futuro de los sectores culturales y creativos y nuestra hoja de ruta, incorporado el conocimiento de las realidades actuales y futuras en el área digital y tecnológica. Comité Asesor Internacional del Programa (IPAC)
Presentamos este mes el Comité Asesor Internacional del Programa (IPAC) de la 10ª Cumbre Mundial de las Artes y la Cultura, cuya tarea será fundamental en la elaboración de un programa dinámico y representativo. El Comité está formado por Sarah Abdu Bushra (Etiopía), Khadija El Bennaoui (Marruecos / EAU), Alfons Karabuda (Suecia), Octavio Kulesz (Argentina / Italia), Jinjoon Lee (República de Corea), Julie Nagam (Canadá), Phloeun Prim (Camboya) and Pooja Sood (India). Convocatoria de participación
Invitamos propuestas de responsables de políticas públicas, académicos, representantes de gobiernos, líderes culturales y comunitarios y profesionales de las artes, la cultura, las industrias culturales y creativas y otros sectores relacionados.
Para presentar una propuesta, le rogamos complete el formulario virtual en inglés y español. No disponemos de un formulario en francés, pero puede usar los existentes para presentar propuestas en ese idioma. No se aceptarán las propuestas enviadas por correo electrónico. Puede presentar propuestas hasta el miércoles 31 de julio de 2024, y encontrará más información sobre la presentación de propuestas en la página web de la Cumbre, aquí.
