New Head appointed at the Yokohama Museum of Art

The Japanese Art Scene Monitor reports that Koji Yukiyama has been appointed Head of the Yokohama Museum of Art, replacing Tetsuro Kagesato who left in April last year to take up a professorship at Tokyo’s Joshibi University of Art and Design. Yukiyama, is the former Deputy Head of the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art and worked at the National Museum of Western Art (NMWA) in Tokyo as a curator. Noted as being a specialist in Spanish art, Yukiyama has contributed to numerous books and given many lectures in all aspects of his field, in particular the art of Goya and Velaquez.
