The Phillipine Government has set aside the whole month of September in celebration of the country’s rich cultural heritage. The inaugural National Heritage Festival celebrates tangible cultural artifacts such as colonial churches, historic sites, and ancestral houses. It is also dedicated to addressing important issues and concerns confronting the country’s heritage. Overall, the Phillipine Government hopes to encourage consciousness, respect, and love for the legacies of Filipinos cultural heritage, and to raise material support for its restoration, maintenance and protection.
