The Christophe Harbour Development Company is the latest entity to step forward to support the St. Kitts and Nevis National Carnival 2009/2010.
At a recent handing over ceremony, the company’s Director of Government and Community Relations, Ellis Hazel, said that carnival is an annual celebration of what is uniquely Kittitian and Nevisian.
“We see carnival as an important activity in the development of St. Kitts as a destination and so we are pleased to be … afforded the opportunity to make what I consider to be a very kind contribution, especially given the trying economic circumstances,” he said.
Senior Accountant, McNish Jeffers then presented the sponsorship cheque to the Chairman of the National Carnival Committee, Gus Williams.
“Thank you very much indeed,” Mr. Williams responded. “… It’s going to be a tremendous help in making [the] 2009/2010 Carnival, a great carnival.”
The carnival season officially opens on December 18 with a gala and pandemonium celebration. Anticipated events include Rotoract Carnival Prince and Princess Show, National Carnival Queen Pageant, Folklore Avenue Extravaganza, National Calypso Monarch Finals and the exceptional Grand New Year’s Day Parade.
