Throughout Europe, projects that create access to cultural life or use arts in an educational process are gaining in significance. In order to give a sustainable boost to the Swiss arts education and audience development landscape, the broadly-based web platform mediation-culturelle.ch is going live on 21 January 2011.
This comprehensive and cross-disciplinary platform, the first of its kind in Switzerland, is primarily aimed at specialists in the fields of education and research. It links up the constantly growing cultural education scene, fosters debate on quality, and presents ongoing projects as well as courses and events.
The platform was jointly launched by the Pädagogische Hochschule PHBern, the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and the Swiss UNESCO commission in collaboration with 20 partner organisations from all over Switzerland. They take it in turns to host mediation-culturelle.ch.
Pro Helvetia participates in the web platform in connection with its 2009-2012 Arts and Audience programme.
The Ernst Göhner foundation and the Mercator Foundation Switzerland have also made major contributions to mediation-culturelle.ch
