On 24 October, Antonio Grassi, president of the National Foundation of the Arts and Commissioner-General of the Year of Brazil in Portugal, will receive a medal in recognition of his work in tourism. It is an honor awarded by the Secretariat of State for Tourism of the Portuguese government for individuals and organizations as recognition for the promotion of Portugal.

Antonio Grassi receives the honor – which highlights the promotion of culture and historical connection between Brazil and Portugal - from the hands of the Secretary of State for Tourism of Portugal, Cecilia Meirelles. The ceremony will be held at the Portinari Hall of the Palácio Gustavo Capanema in Rio de Janeiro.

“It is a great joy for me to receive this distinction. The Year of Brazil in Portugal is a great opportunity to strengthen the bonds between the countries as well as with our brothers and sisters in cultural, economic and tourism fields. Receiving this medal is a recognition not only for me but for all Brazilians who, like me, appreciate the legacy of Portugal in Brazil, "says Grassi.

The distinction, which is awarded annually, has already been granted to presenter Ana Maria Braga, singer Fafa Bethlehem and ABAV - Brazilian Association of Travel Agents. This year, the State Secretariat of Tourism of Portugal also pays tribute to Braztoa (Brazilian Association of Tourism Operators) during the ABAV Fair in Riocentro
