IFACCA members from the Americas will meet this Friday 11 April in San José, Costa Rica, for the 2nd IFACCA Americas Regional Group meeting. The meeting will be held in association with the VI Iberoamerican Congress on Culture organised by the Ministry of Culture and Youth, Costa Rica.
Bringing together representatives from IFACCA’s member organisations in Belize, Canada, Chile, Colombia and El Salvador, the meeting will provide the opportunity to discuss topics or regional importance as well as general issues such as culture and development, the review of IFACCA’s Strategic Plan 2015-18 and current IFACCA research. A representative from the National Council for Culture and the Arts (Conaculta), Mexico will also participate in the meeting as an observer.
The first meeting of IFACCA’s members from Latin America and the Caribbean was held in Havana, Cuba in April 2011. More recently in January this year at the 6th World Summit on Arts and Culture in Santiago, Chile, members from Latin America and the Caribbean joined members from North America to form the IFACCA Americas Regional Group.
