City of Melbourne plays an important role in the arts, fostering creative experimentation by encouraging and funding artists, promoting participation, and bringing art and people together in the heart of the city. They produce a range of arts activities, festivals and events, manage workshop and performance venues, as well as supporting artists to live and work in Melbourne.
