IFACCA presents at UCLG Culture Summit in Jeju

IFACCA’s Executive Director, Sarah Gardner, and Research Manager, Annamari Laaksonen, both spoke at the 2nd  United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) Culture Summit on 10-13 May in Jeju, South Korea.

The theme of the Summit was “Commitments and Actions for Culture in Sustainable Cities” and the plenary sessions focused on cross-cutting themes which had also informed the design of the overall programme. The key themes were Implementing Culture 21 Actions, Towards a Global Culture 2030 Goal and Cultural Rights and Local Alliances for Culture.

Sarah Gardner chaired the Parallel Session Building a “Culture2030Goal” and participated as a speaker in the plenary session on Culture and the SDGs: towards a Global Culture 2030 Goals .

Annamari Laaksonen chaired the Session on Local cultural policies and national frameworks that presented the results and the study, D'Art 51: Local cultural policies and national frameworks  conducted by IFACCA and the Committee on Culture of UCLG in 2016-17. She also participated as a speaker in the parallel session on Gender in Cultural Policies.
