ICOM’s first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is now available to all on the Future Learn platform: “Creating Meaningful and Inclusive Museum Practices“. The course encourages museum professionals to explore a range of methodologies and strategies for social inclusion and community building that can be implemented to support wider cultural participation.
Through representative case studies and discussions with practitioners, academics and community members, this 4-week MOOC gives museums the opportunity to learn more on co-curation, community collecting, inclusive design and conflict resolution strategies, in order to ensure access and participation to cultural life for all, irrespective of people’s economic, political, cultural and social status (elderly, people with disabilities, migrants, minorities, indigenous peoples, members of LGBTQI+ or ethnocultural communities, etc.).
