According to data from the Lithuanian Council for Culture, there are more than 10,000 creators in the country. Remuneration for their creative work varies significantly, though it is generally lower than other sectors.

Rates of pay are also inconsistent across different areas of the arts. For example, it is customary to pay creators in the performing arts sector - music, theatre, dance -  while work in the visual and applied arts it is rarely paid.
