At the heart of ICOM’s efforts is the recognition that museums globally are uniquely positioned to advance the 2030 Agenda and foster sustainable development. Through its 2019 Resolution on Sustainable Development, ICOM has called on its members to actively engage with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both locally and globally. Museums, as trusted public institutions, play a key role in Action for Climate Empowerment, promoting education, public awareness, training, public access to information, and international cooperation.
