"Arts and Culture Norway works to ensure that art and culture are not reserved for a few. And our figures show that both the sector and the supply to the population are increasing. Nevertheless, we see signs that cultural offerings in some areas are becoming more expensive, geographically unevenly distributed and socially narrower," says Marcus Zackrisson, department director for cultural analysis at Arts and Culture Norway.
The report "The State of Culture 2024" shows that cultural offerings are growing, at the same time as prices are rising, the distance to cultural offerings varies greatly between counties – and the sector is less diverse than the population.
