As of today, young people who turn 18 in 2026 will be able to use funds in the amount of EUR 100 for access to cultural and media content throughout Croatia through the Cultural Card - a long-term strategic project of the Ministry of Culture and Media that seeks to contribute to the development of new generations of cultural audiences.
Young people will be able to use the funds from the Cultural Card electronically or physically, until their 19th birthday, to purchase a range of cultural and media content, including theatre, cinema, concerts, museums, books and other content.
"This is a pilot project by which the Ministry wants to increase the availability of culture to young people and encourage active participation in cultural life through a simple and digitally accessible system of using cultural content. This is the first time in Croatia that an entire generation of 18-year-olds is systematically introduced to the cultural system and the possibility of using the amount of 100 euros for cultural content is a symbolic, but also a valuable gift for adulthood", said the Minister of Culture and Media, Dr. Sc. Nina Obuljen Koržinek during the presentation on the new stage of the Croatian National Theatre - HNK2.
