How is the nature of craft practice changing? How do we make sense of these changes? What is the changing role of the maker in our culture? How is craft education contributing to this process? What is the new politics and practice of craft in the 21st century?
ChallengingCraft will address these issues within the following themes:

• Challenging craft education
• Craft articulating culture
• New collaborative craft practices
This conference will be of interest to practitioners, educators, researchers and theorists working across a wide range of disciplines. It represents a unique forum to explore the fast changing context and nature of craft practice, and through this to define appropriate agendas and priorities for craft research.
