Cultural Diversity in the Americas

In Bogotá, on November 19-23, representatives of various cultural and artistic organizations, members of the coalitions for cultural diversity of Brazil, Canada, Chile and Colombia, cultural policy and cultural rights experts, and employees of the Culture and Sports Secretariat of Bogotá, will get together to present the history and current state of coalitions for cultural diversity, to discuss the advancements of UNESCO’s Convention on Cultural Diversity and to decide on appropriate actions to implement it in the Americas.
The meeting, which will take place in Luis Ángel Arango Library, will be public and will have among the speakers Paulo Slachevsky (Chilean Coalition for Cultural Diversity), David Melo (Film Department Director of the Colombian Ministry of Culture), Pedro Querejazu (international expert on cultural rights), and George Yudice (Professor of New York University’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese).
