Cultural Policy Research In The Countries Of South East Europe

02 October 2004 – 03 October 2004, Serbia

On October 2-3, Belgrade will host the international workshop Cultural policy research in the countries of South East Europe: setbacks and prospects. The workshop will address and aim towards setting an agenda for the new area of activity of the Policies for Culture programme - that of cultural policy research - and of its established Task Force for Culture Policy Research. The workshop aims to allow for a mapping of the current status of research, and of the relationship between research and decision-making thoughout the region; to raise awareness of liabilities of the lack of research, on the one hand, and assets resulting from the policy supply with independent research results, on the other; to facilitate capacity building & networking in this area; to set an agenda for future action, by defining the most urgent topics of research as well as methodologies to be applied in order to easier convert research findings into policy papers which could have an impact on national and local level. To consult the agenda and the list of participants of this workshop visit the Policies for Culture website: http://www.policiesforculture.org. The workshop has been organised by the ECUMEST Association, which is managining the Policies for Culture programme in South East Europe.
