This first national workshop aims at promoting the gathering of relevant data and obtaining the necessary political support while encouraging cooperation within the institutional framework in order to generate cultural statistics and indicators in Costa Rica.
At the end of the workshop, recommendations will be drawn up regarding collecting and/or updating data in Costa Rica, as well as the signature of a National Decree involving the creation of a National Office on Cultural Statistics.
Among the 50 participants are officials from the Ministry of Culture and Youth and associated institutions, the Banco Centroamericano de Integración Económica (BCIE), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Central Bank of Costa Rica, the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (INEC) and the Costa Rica’s Chamber of Industry.
