Dreams & Aspirations: Training & Professional Development Conference
22 June 2004 – 23 June 2004, United Kingdom
Dreams & Aspirations: The Arts Council of Wales Training & Professional Development Conference 2004
When: 22 Tuesday – 23 Wednesday June, 2004
Where: Trinity College, Carmarthen
This year’s ACW Training & Development Conference will take place at Trinity College Carmarthen.
At a time of further funding cuts when the arts are strapped for cash, including ACW and ATW, the focus of this year’s Training and Professional Development Conference will be 'Dreams & Aspirations.'
Instead of dwelling on the lack of funding, this Conference will take a positive look at where we can go in the future.
The Conference is a major opportunity to catch up on progress in the development of training and careers opportunities in the arts in Wales.
Conference keynote speaker is Chris Smith, former Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. He is currently Chair of the Judges for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction 2004, Chairman of the Donmar Warehouse, a member of the board of the National Theatre, and is on the advisory council of the London Symphony Orchestra. He took up the post of Founding Director of the Clore Leadership Programme in June 2003 and will be discussing ‘Culture and Leadership’.
Early booking is strongly advised.
