European Culture in a Changing World: Between Nationalism and Globalism

The organisers of the Conference believe that in order to deal with the European Culture in a Changing World, the reciprocal relationship between Politics and Economics on one hand, and Culture on the other must also be addressed. Noting that, in an era when economic forces are pushing towards European Economic Unity or towards the Globalization of National Markets, the role of Culture is difficult to demarcate.
The Conference asks the question; What will happen to the rich mosaic of National European Cultures? and will examine issues such as National identity,Global Narrative and European Unification and Globalism.
