A conference of European countries’ culture ministers will be held in Baku on 2-3 December 2008. The event subject is “Inter-cultural dialogue: bases of peace and stable development of Europe and neighbouring regions”.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has reported that the conference is organized by the Azerbaijani government in collaboration with the Council of Europe.

“Ministers of a range of the ISESCO and ALEKSO member countries, intergovernmental organizations and NGOs have been invited for the event along with culture ministers of Europe,” it was informed.

The major goal of the conference is lay bases of “Baku process” playing role of a bridge between cultures of Europe and Islamic world for development of inter-cultural dialogue between the two civilizations.

The meeting between the European culture ministers has not been conducted for about eight years.
