Mobility of artists and project support

Plate-forme Interrégionale is pleased to invite you to a meeting, prior to the IETM plenary session, concerning the cooperation project “Mobility of artists and project support in Europe and abroad: Professions, organizations, methods and tools”.

The meeting will take place on October 17, from 12.00 to 14.00 PM, in Romantso (one of the IETM venues), 3-5, 10552 Athens.

The agenda of the meeting includes:
- Presentation of participants (round table)
- Presentation of the project
- Interest of participants and partners' contribution to the project (round table)
- Discussion on the choice of the work program

Project: "Mobility of Artists and Project Support in Europe and Abroad: Professions, organizations, methods and tools"

General objectives:
The project focuses on three complementary objectives:

  • Facilitate cooperation in structuring the employability of artists, technicians,administrtatifs and production staff and in terms of support of projects (modalities, procedures, tools, …) in the field of artistic creation.
  • Observe and analyze a transformative process of projects support models and artistic mobility accompanying in a context of budgetary restrictions and globalization;
  • Provide practical solutions to the issues of creativity sectors in terms of artists mobility, especially emerging artists, and projects support in Europe and abroad.

Operational goals

  • Organize sharing of experience on training, paths, careers and professional practices around artistic creation: training courses, administration and production professions, learning and hands-on experience;
  • Conduct a survey of operating methods and conduct a qualitative observation of the process and accompanying devices: systemic and structural organizations (agencies, public and private foundations, communities, formal and informal networks, ...), methods and tools (especially digital), changes at work along the project (evolution of existing devices, immediate and induced impacts, …) in a period of deep change in public policies for culture and creativity;
  • Formalize and publish recommendations and information materials on artistic mobility and support of project: needs, evolution of existing systems, new models ...

Issues and Perspectives:

  • Take into account and deal with the changes facing the performing arts (social inclusion, digital uses, relationship with other sectors)
  • Mutualising and sharing of resources (material, human and financial) against the European crisis and to the fall in public funding for culture;
  • Give tracks to the "actors" to improve (or even structure) their methods of action through a better understanding of the modus operandi of partners;
  • Nourish so their reflections and their capacity to develop, through and beyond the structures, patterns of development and project support in internationally mobility of artists and art making;
  • Regarding and in addition to this approach, identify existing and potential increase contributions of each partner to the international community in a crisis context and to share better richness and knowledge;
  • Facilitate cooperation between structures and networks dedicated to cultural development and support, with presentation of projects/shows, workshops, dissemination of information ;
  • Valuing "good practices", including those of partners involved, models models, ways that are working well of support for mobility and accompaniment, promote structures and devices to producers/managers and imagine new ways of cooperation;
  • Pay particular attention to the integration of young artists and their access to accompanying devices
  • Strengthen cooperation in and out of Europe: methods of support, practical cooperationoutside Europe (with/in Americas, Asia, Australia)
