Music Policy Seminar: One Year On From Mapping
24 May 2004, United Kingdom
One year on from the publication of the report, Mapping the Music Industry in Scotland, this seminar examines the state of the industry today.
In particular, it tackles the following issues:
- Who presently speaks for the music industry in Scotland?
- Who do they speak to and with what results?
- What kind of representative or authoritative claims do such voices carry?
- Do musicians and music businesses need a new organisation to speak for them?
- How should such a body be constituted?
- What would it be for?
- Does the industry in Scotland really have shared (rather than conflicting) interests?
- How does lobbying affect policy making?
When: Monday, 24 May 2004, 10am - 1pm
Where: Andrew Stewart Cinema, Gilmorehill Centre, University of Glasgow
