National Creative Industries Conference

Introduction

NCI09, 'Creative Economy', the fifth National Creative Industries Conference, will be taking place on 24th and 25th November at the BFI Southbank. Set over two days, it is UK's largest gathering of the Creative Sector, bringing together over 300 delegates from across parliament, industry and the public and third sectors.


Highlights will include:

Input from the three main parties on their vision for the future of the creative economy including presentations from the Shadow Minister, Jeremy Hunt MP, and Greg Dyke*
A challenging debate on the impact of the Digital Britain White Paper with input from industry and leading policy makers
An overview of the latest RDA plans to provide cross regional infrastructure support for creative industries
Local Government best practice to support creative economy growth, including the LGA's Work Foundation commissioned report from Will Hutton
New programmes to develop skills and talent in the classroom and workplace, with interactive workshopping with Channel 4's Learning and 4 Talent team
The role of enterprise and innovation in developing the sector, with firsthand experience from Nokia, Google and Aardman Animation
