A new project initiated by Arts Council England Inside will explore the relationship between disability and architecture by looking at the responses of disabled artists. The project, entitled Inside Out, was commissioned as part of Architecture Week 2005 which runs from 17 – 26 June. The week will be a national public celebration of contemporary architecture throughout England. Inside Out has brought together a team of artists to make work responding to places and spaces in the south east region. The work will be showcased online, http://www.art-architecture.co.uk/insideout The Inside Out website will be launched on Wednesday 22 June. The seminar is for built environment professionals (architects, planners, urban designers etc.), educators and arts organisations, and will be an opportunity for them to become involved in the project and respond to the website. It is intended that Inside Out will become an innovative model and a key resource for use in architecture, disability and education. Felicity Harvest, Executive Director of Arts Council England, South East, says: "The Arts Council is delighted to be working with such an exceptional group of artists on this imaginative and innovative project. We believe it has the potential to change profoundly the way those who experience it think about the built environment." For further information, CLICK HERE
