A new initiative in arts and health has been launched in Scotland, with the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, Patricia Ferguson announcing ArtFull. The program will promote arts as a tool in improving mental health and addressing many issues at the heart of well-being. ArtFull not only attacks the stigma of mental illness, and supports good mental health, but will provide a network for health and the arts. Deputy Minister for Health, Lewis Macdonald said: “ArtFull will develop and support more joint- working between the arts and mental health organisations. This aims to widen access to the arts and cultural opportunities and promote positive mental health and well-being for all... Participation in the arts and art-therapy is fun and can play a key role in supporting recovery from mental illness. For more information, CLICK HERE.
