Cultural Sustainability? Liverpool 2008: the theory and practice of cultural policy
The University of Liverpool has been awarded an AHRC/ESRC fellowship in Impact Assessment for three years, starting in October 2007. The research is led by Dr Beatriz Garcia, Dr Steven Miles (School of Sociology and Social Policy) and Dr Alan Southern (Management School). The university is seeking to appoint for two posts: a full time Research Fellow and a PhD studentship. Further details can be seen via the link below.
The deadline for applications is the 21st September 2007.
Research Topics
The research will complement the Impacts 08 programme by advancing the theoretical and methodological debate on approaches to assess the economic and social impacts of culture-led investment. The research will cover 2 strands:
1) 'The Value of the Creative Industries'
2) 'The Value of Space and Place'
These elements are designed to provide a means of investigating the role of cultural policy in the production and the consumption of cities. A brief overview of the research can be downloaded from the impacts08 website.
