At the Colonial Art Museum, placed in Bogotá’s historical downtown, the Ministers of Culture of Spain and Colombia signed a new cultural cooperation agreement, which has resulted in the Third Ibero-American Congress of Culture 2010.
This is one of the most important cultural meetings that takes place annually in different Ibero-American countries.
This year it was carried out in México, in 2009 Brazil will host it, and for the year 2010 Colombia will have the possibility of being Ibero-America’s cultural epicentre. Medellín was the Colombian city chosen to carry it out.
This was confirmed by César Antonio Molina, Spain’s Ministry of Culture, at a meeting with Paula Marcela Moreno, Colombia’s Minister of Culture.
“Medellín has proved that it has the needed infrastructure and, overall, the will to plan and carry out a meeting of such importance”, stated Minister Moreno.
Molina’s visit will continue tomorrow in Medellín, where he will attend the inauguration of Antioquia’s Museum exhibition “Spain: Civilizations’ meeting point”.
Both Ministers of Culture, aside Lina Moreno, the Nation’s First Lady; Alonso Salazar, Major of Medellín, and Luis Alfredo Ramos, Antioquia’s Governor, will officially designate Medellín as the host city of this Congress, one of the most important Ibero-American cultural events.
