In a bid to strengthen the creation, production, dissemination, circulation and appropriation of traditional marimba music and traditional songs from the South Pacific, the Ministry of Culture will hold in Guapi and López de Micay, Cauca, the workshop 'Seeds of the Safeguard'. 

This initiative of MinCultura, within the framework of the Communication and Territory project, supports cultural managers, bearers and local communicators of these Caucan municipalities in the strengthening of their capacities for the creation of cultural projects. 

The workshops 'Seeds of the Safeguard' will be directed by Aura Elena González Sevillano, manager and adviser of the group managing the Marimba Songs and Traditional Songs of the South Pacific and will be held in the Educational Institution of the municipality of López de Micay, On July 19, 20 and 21, at 2:00 p.m. and at the Casa de la Cultura of Guapi, on July 25, 26 and 27. 

From 2:00 pm Through these two workshops, the aim is to guide the managers and bearers of the cultural manifestations of the South Pacific in concepts, methodologies and procedures that allow the identification of relevant routes and processes in the gestation of their cultural initiatives. 
 
For several years MinCultura, through the Communications Department, has been working in the Colombian Pacific with the purpose of strengthening the recognition, valuation and social appropriation of the cultural wealth of this region of the country, Through the development of training processes in communication and creation of own content with the communities and the support to actions of public information that make visible the artistic, ethnic and spiritual richness of its traditional manifestations.
