Take part in Visiting Arts' Kick-Start: Cardiff professional exchange programme for creative changemakers looking to propel their careers.
As part of a series of events produced for Creative Tracks, aimed at connecting creative entrepreneurs worldwide, Visiting Arts will host a three day exchange and networking event in Wales from 16-19 October 2017 - coinciding with the launch of the European Network EASTN 2, SWN Festival, and celebrations for the 2nd anniversary of Creative Cardiff.
Kick-Start: Cardiff aims to be a catalyst event bringing together emerging international creative voices with the thriving arts and creative industries scene in Wales to explore their value and role in regeneration.
The event will invite delegates to exchange ideas on three key themes:
- urbanisation
- how the arts and creative industries are driving regional/ rural economies
- workspaces and new ways of working
Gain new knowledge and skills, pitch your projects and calls for collaboration, and make exciting international connections for life!
The programme includes a workshop day, an arts and law seminar, a panel discussion event and lots of networking opportunities, with the chance to pitch your work to industry experts and potential investors.
Kick-Start: Cardiff is produced within the framework of the EU funded project, Creative Tracks, with the support of the European Union, Wallonie Bruxelles International, Shenzen Design Week and the AsiaEurope Foundation.
The Kick-Start: Cardiff is proudly run in partnership with Welsh Government, Cardiff Council, Arts Council of Wales and its international arm Wales Arts International, Creative Cardiff, Cardiff University, British Council, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Geldards LLP, SWN Festival.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE
Monday 16 October
All day International delegates arrive and meet with organisers.
17:30 – 19:30 "Show and Tell "evening reception in partnership with Creative Cardiff to celebrate their second birthday.
19:30 – 21:00 Welcome dinner.
Tuesday 17 October
09:00 – 15:00 Training/exchange workshops with UK and international participants. Trainers TBC. Lunch provided.
18:00 – 20:00 Evening event - details TBC.
Wednesday 18 October
10:00 – 12:00 Arts, Creative Industries and Law Conference in partnership with Geldards.
14:00 – 17:00 Blind networking meet-ups organized between international guests and local professionals/ Independent and group scheduled meetings with local creative spaces relevant to attending delegates.
19:30 – 21:30 Evening reception and concert with Swiss Ambassador at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama
Thursday 19 October
08:30 – 12:00 Visiting Arts networking breakfast opened by Ken Skates, , Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Infrastructure. Panel discussion including report on the exchange workshop day.
13:00– 15:00 Walk through Bute Park to the Castle for a drinks reception hosted by Cardiff Council. Details TBC.
15:00 International delegates depart or can choose to stay on for SWN music festival
