The Minister of Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Amina Sarafi, received, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the representative of the World Health Organization in Tunisia, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zik, in the presence of a number of ministry officials.
The meeting dealt with ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the Ministry and the WHO office in Tunisia with regard to health education in public cultural institutions, including cultural vehicles, cultural houses and public libraries in the various wilayas of the Republic.
During this meeting, the Minister reiterated the Ministry of Cultural Affairs' continuous commitment to raise the level of health awareness among young people and youth, especially with regard to the issue of preventing smoking and addiction in all their forms, by working to implement innovative and renewed awareness campaigns and promote them on all traditional and digital media bearings.
The Minister of Cultural Affairs also called for the exploitation of cultural activities within popular neighborhoods and the contribution of the participating artists to pass awareness messages close to the living reality threatened by the dangers of these scourges.
For his part, the representative of the World Health Organization in Tunisia, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zeik, praised the ministry's efforts in promoting social health justice, which would contribute to improving health care and ensuring a decent life for Tunisian citizens.
