20th General Conference and the 21st General Assembly of ICOM 2004
When: Sat, October 2 - Fri, October 08, 2004

The worldwide museum community recognises it will have to pay significant attention to intangible cultural heritage as well as tangible resources by fostering interdisciplinary approaches.
In the preservation of the totality of heritage resources, museums should continue to further their core business of collection, preservation, research, exchange, exhibition and education.
The theme 'Museums and Intangible Heritage' of the ICOM 2004 SEOUL will help to promote the cultural identities of all regions in the world and to understand the cultural diversity in the global society. By doing so, we will be able to contribute to an era of peace and community-building.
