The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts in Richmond, California, seeks a Managing Director to guide the expansion of its multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary arts center. The Managing Director will provide leadership as the organization begins design of a new, state-of-the-art performance venue with the City of Richmond''s designated development partners, while continuing to advance the East Bay Center''s 33 year commitment to nurturing non-commercial and culturally diverse art forms; providing accessible, high quality arts training; and utilizing the arts as a vehicle for social reconciliation and change. The East Bay Center has a $2 million annual operating budget and is home to nine resident companies, an on-site performing arts school and an extensive educational outreach program. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Managing Director supervises the development and finance departments and oversees human resources and marketing. The Managing Director also serves as staff liaison to the Board of Directors and assists the Artistic Director with the philosophical and strategic leadership of the organization. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years'' senior management experience at a comparable performing arts organization. The position requires a demonstrated track record in managing staff, budgets, facilities and information systems, and competency in development, finance, marketing and working with nonprofit boards. Applicants must also have excellent communications skills and experience working with diverse communities.
