Pananaw 4: Philippine Journal of Visual Arts

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has recently released Pananaw 4: Philippine Journal of Visual Arts. The full-color publication explores Luzon visual arts through photographs and essays by respected art critics, curators, and visual artists. The book is edited by Imelda Cajipe-Endaya and Florina H. Capistrano-Baker and designed by Norberto Roldan. Among the topics discussed in the Journal are the contextualization of Luzon contemporary visual art, growth of regional art, and contemporary Filipino-American Art in New York. The Pananaw series is geared towards a thorough examination of the visual arts scene in the Philippines. Book one discussed the national scene in relation to the developments in the Aisa-Pacific region as well as new movements in art theory. Book two focused on Mindanao, Book three on the Visayas. The series is a project of the NCCA Committee on Visual Arts with the assistance of the Committee on Art Galleries.
