St. Bonaventure University seeks a visionary, energetic and experienced leader to serve as Executive Director of its Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The Executive Director is a senior administrator who reports directly to the University President with responsibility for the overall artistic vision and strategic direction of The Quick Arts Center and all major fund raising for the Center. The Center is comprised of two theaters that host a professional subscription season, family programming, and community and student ensembles. It also includes the newly constructed F. Donald Kenney Museum and Art Study Wing, which presents nationally significant one-person, thematic and collections exhibitions in four galleries. Museum staff is responsible for the care, management, and interpretation of the University''s culturally diverse collections of 1,800 objects dating from the 3rd century BC to 2002. The Center recently launched an aggressive arts-in-education program, which serves children in 22 school districts in seven counties of New York and Pennsylvania. The Executive Director supervises a staff of eight professionals and works with the University Arts Council, a 22-member national advisory board, to ensure the effectiveness of programs and policies that serve the University and greater regional community. In consultation with the President on arts-related issues, the Executive Director works with the Arts Council to develop a national presence for arts programs at the University, while executing and implementing strategic planning for the Center. In consultation with University Advancement, the Executive Director is the chief development officer and fiscal manager for the Arts Center, with responsibility for fostering corporate sponsors and private donations, working with staff to obtain state, federal and foundation grants, and participating in the museum membership campaign and fund raising events. Excellent management and communication skills and the ability to coach and mentor professional staff are important qualities the Executive Director is expected to have along with the ability to motivate and work with creative staff, faculty, students, volunteers and the regional community at large. A proven track record in fund raising, familiarity with national arts community and funding sources, and a willingness to represent and advocate for the Center effectively within the region and beyond are essential. St. Bonaventure University is located in Olean, NY, a wonderful community of about 20,000 in Western New York. The University is a 144-year old Franciscan University with 2,300 undergraduate students, 500 graduate students, and the internationally recognized Franciscan Institute. The University is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, summer home to the National Shakespeare Company, with great skiing just 30 minutes away in Ellicottville.
