PERCENT FOR ART PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Louisiana Division of the Arts (LDOA), an agency in the Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, seeks a director for its new Percent for Art Program (public art in and around state buildings). Percent for Art law specifies that one percent of the expenditure for the construction and renovation of a state building in excess of $2 million shall be for works of art by artists and craftsmen for the building and its grounds. The director will implement and oversee the statewide percent for art program as follows * Direct complex, statewide percent for art program * Manage all percent for art project contracts * Develop program long-range plans * Develop and oversee program budget * Serve as program liaison with government officials and design professionals * Provide supervision to percent for art program staff * Conduct meetings for project stakeholders throughout the state * Monitor program commissions by conducting site visits as works are created and installed. Minimum qualifications A baccalaureate degree plus five years of professional level experience in public art management. Salary commensurate with experience.
