EXHIBITION SPONSORSHIP COORDINATOR

The American Federation of Arts (AFA), a national are museum organization based in New York City, seeks an experienced, energetic and well-organized Exhibition Sponsorship Coordinator to * Research and identify funding opportunities from individual, foundation, corporate, government sources that support the mission and direction of the traveling exhibition program. * Assist in the writing of grant proposals, organize and prepare supplementary materials, administrative support to Manger of Grants in the area of exhibition sponsorship * Work closely with curatorial staff to prioritize timing and strategy for exhibition funding. This position is an integral member of the fundraising team and will work directly with the Grants Manager, Deputy Director for External Affairs and the Exhibitions staff in a stimulating and congenial environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have, minimally, a Bachelor's degree in Art History, and at least two years of demonstrated successful experience in an art museum or related field, preferably in the area of development or sponsorship. Superb written, editing, prospect research and organizations skills are essential. Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Raiser's Edge) are necessary. The candidate should have the ability to take initiative, think creatively, and work independently and with a team under the pressure of deadline. Compensation, which includes a generous benefits package, is commensurate with experience.
