You will develop, implement and communicate SAC's strategy for literature in Scotland. Experienced at a senior management level you will have proven skills in managing and motivating staff. An excellent communicator, with strong negotiation and advocacy skills, you will be responsible for effective liaison with arts organisations and local authorities. You will participate in cross-council policy development and will be responsible for managing the Literature Department budget. You will have a detailed knowledge of contemporary Scottish literature as well as substantial awareness of wider developments in literature elsewhere in the UK and internationally. An appreciation of the languages of Scottish literature is required. Knowledge of other art forms advantageous. Salary £28,000 –£36,000 (under review)depending on skills and experience plus a non-contributory pension scheme.
