Global Action Project, Inc. is a media arts organization that provides training in video production and new media technologies for youth, both locally and internationally. G.A.P. promotes the inclusion of diverse youth voices on critical issues through public forums in which young people use their media as a springboard for dialogue and action. PROGRAM DIRECTOR We're seeking someone with leadership experience in working with youth and media to oversee all G.A.P. media programs. Must have excellent facilitation, communication, leadership, and staff development skills. Responsibilities will include Facilitating media trainings and leadership workshops with youth and staff. Supervising media trainers at weekly staff meetings and individually; monitoring programs, holding staff accountable to timelines and program objectives. Conducting staff development trainings and regular site visits; assist in developing curriculum and evaluating programs. Organizing peer education media workshops, and other media activities and events that bring together youth from the different programs. Assist Directors in developing, negotiating and nurturing relationships with collaborating schools and organizations, including developing budgets and letters of agreements regarding the implementation of media training programs. Technical awareness and familiarity with web, video production and editing (final cut pro and/or web design a plus). Qualifications Three to five years of youth development and/or youth media coordination or management experience. Experience in staff supervision. Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills. Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills. Strong computer skills. Knowledge of local and global issues. Useful Experience/Knowledge Knowledge of conflict resolution and peer mediation. Knowledge of alternative pedagogies, popular education techniques, and youth development best practices.
