Coordinator, Public Relations and Marketing

Principal Responsibilities: With the oversight of AFI Communications and Marketing officers, this position will be responsible for:
  • Public relations and marketing plans, implementation and evaluation for AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Centre,
  • securing direct communication support and media placement for roll-out of AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Centre programs and ongoing activities,
  • direct management of high volume of proactive and reactive press strategies and placements related to on-going activities and events.
  • monitoring consistent use of AFI Silver profile,
  • oversight and management of marketing efforts for ticket and subscription sales, facilities rentals, and other earned income activities. Principal Duties:
  • Devise, place and execute all public relations functions related to the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Centre, with an emphasis on building a strong audience, membership/moviegoer program, and providing support for a strong facilities rental program,
  • devise and execute all direct press for AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Centre, to include planning and timed execution of a multi-layered strategy to focus on various components of AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Centre. Those components include; opening and other events; ongoing and future programming; education and other outreach programs; public-private partnerships and community redevelopment; landmark and historic preservation efforts; etc.
  • in conjunction with AFI Creative Services, coordinate and implement consistent use of AFI Silver image,
  • in conjunction with AFI Creative Services, coordinate and execute AFI Silver related positioning materials, including web, print, event and other promotion, with overlap to marketing functions, including advertising and facilities rentals.
