The Executive Director is the CEO, architect of the organization's vision, and the leader in its programs, organizational development, resource development, long range planning, and management. The Nebraska Arts Council is an agency of state government created in 1973 with headquarters in the carriage house of the historic Joslyn Castle in Omaha, Nebraska. Its legislative mandate is 'to stimulate and encourage throughout the state the study and presentation of performing and fine arts and public interest therein.' The NAC's mission is accomplished through grants, services and initiatives. The successful candidate will be an open, entrepreneurial professional who brings diligence, creativity, vision, leadership, energy and a passion for the arts and humanities. Experience in business and successful fund raising would be a benefit. At least ten years of experience in senior management positions in arts administration or related field is required. Undergraduate and graduate work in arts or humanities and business desired. Competitive compensation package including strong benefits.
