Full-time, 12-month Management Position The Central Sierra Arts Council (CSAC), a well-respected and long-standing nonprofit organization based in Sonora, California is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director functions as the chief administrative officer for the Corporation and is responsible for supervising the overall operations, as well as the continued growth and vitality of the CSAC. Under the general direction and guidance of the Central Sierra Arts Council Board of Directors and Board of Directors Executive Committee, the Executive Director is responsible for the fiscal health, strategic direction, program development, and long-term stability of the organization and is charged with advancing the mission of the CSAC. The Executive Director also serves as one of the primary leaders and spokespersons for the greater arts community. The City of Sonora is located in the rural, picturesque central Sierra foothill region and enjoys a vibrant and growing arts community, which plays a critical role in the region's growing tourism-based economy. CSAC, which has been in existence for over 30 years, has been given a very high rating by the California Arts Council. CSAC provides services and programs throughout the region and collaborates with other arts providers and educational institutions to develop robust art education programs that serve several hundred school children each year as well as many public art events and shows. The Central Sierra Arts Council efforts have proven vital to the advancement of the arts in this region. Each of the CSAC Board of Directors fully supports and recognizes that the opportunity for creative expression and exposure to the arts are integral to the health of the community and the greater society. Description of the Position The Executive Director actively advances CSAC's mission, and ensures that CSAC is meeting the cultural leadership needs of the general and artistic public. The Executive Director is responsible for the achievement of all CSAC goals and objectives, and plans, organizes, coordinates, administers and supervises the day-to-day functions of the organization. The Executive Director is responsible for the management and development of all physical, fiscal, and human resources of the Corporation. The Executive Director also provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategic plans for the Corporation.
